During the meeting have been discussed the issues of European affairs and in particular the assistance that Greece could provide in the framework of the procedures to be followed by the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia for its membership in the European Union and the integration of the acquis communautaire.

A particular emphasis was given also on the cross-border cooperation issue as well as on the commercial and financial transactions between the two countries.

These problems cannot be really solved only with efforts in the economic field. How do you think Greece could deal with these problems effectively?


The Hellenic Government of the Professor Lucas Papademos constitutes a coalition supported by three political parties with an overwhelming majority in the Hellenic Parliament. The Government, based on a wide political consensus, reassures partners and friends that Greece has decided to move forward. 


We are taking all the significant and necessary measures which will allow Greece to return to the international markets.

Taxation and fiscal measures create a heavy burden for the society overall, and especially for the most vulnerable social groups. Higher taxation and the curtailing of wages provoked reactions, however, these measures are unavoidable. Unfortunately these are inescapable consequences of our past practices on the field of state budgets and the financing of the public sector.

Corruption is one of the most frustrating realities in most societies. Governments all over the world are faced with this phenomenon and are taking decisive measures in an effort to reorganize the public sector and eradicate corruption. Our Government is not an exception.

 To be specific, allow me to remind you some of the concrete steps we have taken to deal effectively with the problems of our economy:
1. The Hellenic Government has signed a Memorandum with the European Union, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund concerning economic and fiscal adjustments. Since 2010 we have been implementing this Memorandum in close cooperation with our partners.

2. Simultaneously, we are also restructuring the public sector.

3. In addition, the Hellenic Parliament has been endorsing new laws to eliminate tax evasion which is one of the main reasons for the loss of state income.

Surprisingly, speculators active in the financial markets, as well as private international Credit rating agencies, taking advantage of the climate of international economic uncertainty, continue to widely communicate unfavorable information and estimations concerning Greece, deliberately ignoring the fact that Greece borrows money only through the European mechanism, which was established to support European economies, and not from the markets. The European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) offers a guarantee for the Greek economy and for creditors and foreign investors focusing on Greece. These investors include China, the Gulf Countries, the USA, Russia, Germany, Spain and others.

The bankruptcy of Greece is an assertion as well as a stake for all speculators who are also trying to regain credibility and increase their income after their disappointing economic miscalculations just one day before the break down of Lehman Brothers.

- Recently, Greece’s new interim PM Mr. Lucas Papademos promised to EU and IMF that he would take austerity measures with all efforts. This statement just provoked anti-austerity protests again. Would it be possible that what previously happened with Mr. George Papandreou’s government may be repeated with Mr. Lucas Papademos?

As I mentioned, the Greek Prime Minister, Mr. Lucas Papademos, is leading a new Government which enjoys wide political and social confidence.

In politics we must learn from the past and then try to foresee the future of the country through past experiences. The Hellenic Government has been formed by consensus and its mandate is to fulfill certain obligations before calling elections. I see no reason for elections to be called, before these targets have been attained.

No realistic alternative political proposals have been put forward. The few radical initiatives that have been tabled by the communists and other small left wing parties are rejected by the majority of the population.  The Greek electorate considers the radical leftist schemes to propose a complete change of society in the direction of the old soviet model as both unrealistic and outdated.

Apart from this fact, I feel obliged to underline that according to all public opinion polls, more than 60% of the electorate stands against early elections. Despite this, the so called anti-austerity protestors, in smaller numbers today, continue their demonstrations against the austerity program.  Furthermore, extremists infiltrating the demonstrations destroy the center of Athens and severely damage the Greek economy and specifically the tourist sector.

The possibility of a new political crisis which could bring down the Government cannot be excluded in a society facing austerity. Nevertheless, I would like to underline that we are ready to confront the economic and social challenges and bring Greece back to the markets. Mr. Lucas Papademos’ Government has both the decisiveness and the experience to tackle the European and domestic political and economic transformations.

In democratic systems, problems are solved according to the constitutions by elections. Politicians and political parties looking for credibility and confidence in their constituencies merely should choose the appropriate time to call elections, thus avoiding disorder in the state and in the society.

The Government’s mandate is to apply provisions of the memorandum and the agreements signed with the Troika and our European partners. Elections will be announced by the Prime Minister after the fulfillment of these conditions.

- Nowadays, a lot of Chinese people claim that China should not be involved in rescuing Europe. One reason is that they believe Europe is definitely capable of saving itself. Another reason has to do with the fact that Chinese people are not willing to pay money for mistakes made by other in another continent. What are your view on this?

A vast country like China, with a healthy economy, cannot be absent from global economic developments. Today we can no longer isolate economies or turn our backs to world problems.

In our globalized society, sooner or later we are all affected by the rise or decline of a regional economy. The liaison and interconnection of international and supranational economic formations or states, such as the European Union, China, Russia or the USA, are influencing the growth of other economies in the world.

No one can escape this reality without sacrificing the prosperity of its population.

Chinese leaders and the people of China do have the wisdom to understand correctly this reality. The evidence of that understanding is the Chinese effort to establish close cooperation with partners and to finance developing programs.

- It is said that the choice for EU is either deeper integration or collapse. In your views, what do you expect to happen to EU in the coming New Year or what you think it should happen?

Our common European experience is a slow but steady and gradual development towards deeper integration. This way is safest, not only for Europe and its 27 member states, but also for the world. 


A potential collapse of Europe would undoubtedly bring the world economy and many countries, irrespectively to their current growth, to the disaster. Predictions of the economic and political consequences of such a disaster are impossible to formulate realistically, but the situation would be calamitous.

- Some European politicians outlined a fiscal federation, with tough rules for backsliders, in return for the European Central Bank becoming a real central bank, and acting as a “lender of last resort”, should this be absolutely necessary. Do you think it is possible to put this idea into practice, given the obvious economic gaps between different European countries?

This question touches upon the principals and values of European integration. Moving towards a common economic and monetary zone we are obliged to create the appropriate financial and monetary mechanism for the new era.  Taking into account the reality of diverse economies in the European Union, the necessity of a federal financial institution is obvious.

Here, I should also point out that the main objective of the European Integration focuses on harmonizing diversities and inequalities among European members, in an effort to lead member States to the highest level of European standards concerning welfare and social enhancement.

-  Maybe the welfare state system is not to be blamed for the crisis, but cutting welfare measures to a certain extent has been a prevalent option in many European countries by now, as one solution to the crisis. Do you think this would fundamentally undermine the Europe’s consensus on the welfare state system in the future?

The welfare state cannot be blamed for the economic crises in Europe. Welfare is a priority for all European governments and efforts in this direction cannot be singled out.  Crisis is obviously caused by mismanagement, political ineptness, human indifference and erratic decisions concerning the economy.

All econometric models in all economic systems are based on mathematical assumptions, where the human behavior cannot be adequately anticipated. Additionally economists, politicians and bankers easily adopted “plastic money for all incomes without conditions”. This choice was based on the persuasion that credit and plastic money could lead our societies to prosperity and also the economy to a perpetual path of smooth growth, against all the principals of economic theory.

Friedman and his monetarism gradually became the dominant economic theory in all capitals of the western world.  This unconditional borrowing of virtual money fueled the demand for greater consumption, especially of consumer goods, in an economy in disequilibrium. Thus, expenditure grew exponentially, whilst revenues remained stable or declined.

Subsequently, all factors undermined consumers’ behavior, damaged the banking system by expanding credit without preconditions and guarantees for borrowed money. A spurious reality prevailed in the world economy. Many European politicians recognized this problem accurately and on time.

For a considerable period I served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of my country and participated in numerous ministerial meetings in the European Council. Pertinently the galloping economic problems were highlighted by some ministers. References concerned not only the weakness, disequilibria and differences within the European economy, but also the absence of appropriate mechanisms which could safeguard the monetary Union.

Unfortunately, societies in our days cannot easily accept that prosperity remains bound to economic cycles.

We hope that emerging new markets and significant dynamic economies, like the Chinese, have learned from the international crises and will act promptly, aiming at a recovery of the international economy. Only initiatives taken collectively by all great and powerful economies of the world can reestablish stability and credibility in the markets.

Once again the world seeks security, as it did in the past, following the World Wars. Stability in the international economic and financial system is a vital necessity. We should work cautiously towards this, if we are really interested in confronting the world economic problems and the crises. We should appreciate that international institutions are still intact. They can fight against speculators and move methodically towards a new stability and sustainability of the economy.

- “Too quick enlargement is to blame for the euro zone’s problems”, do you agree with this idea?

Enlargement is a complex procedure. It is not only politics or merely economics. In our political environment where science, advanced technologies, markets and political changes are moving so fast, it would be unfair to blame decision makers for a fast track European integration.

Allow me to remind you that when enlargement was chosen, the international environment was totally different. However, rapid decisions do not leave adequate time or sufficient political space for adjustment to the realities or corrections of false estimations. This is my remark concerning “too quick European enlargement”.

- On one hand, Germany is blamed for deferring action to settle the crisis; on the other hand, Germany is considered as “indispensable” for the EU so as the latter survives this crisis. How do you consider the relationships among Germany, Greece and the whole EU?

Germany and France are the founders and the locomotive of European political and monetary integration. Both economies gain from the common market and the monetary Union. In the long run, all member states are acting together and are interdependent in this process. Consequently, it is unfair to single out one State and blame it as the unique responsible factor of common European policies. No one has an interest in violating mutual respect and disobeying the rules and discipline of the European Union.

Furthermore, merely blaming individual countries neglects the fact that common institutions such as the European Council, the European Parliament and the European Commission as well as European Authorities cooperate and survey the implementation of European decisions, directives and the absorption of European projects for development, urban planning, new technologies and reforms of the public sector on a constant basis.

Referring to your question on Greek-German relations, I would like to underline the excellent traditional links between the two countries. Political dialogue and even a critical exchange of ideas, cannot damage longstanding relationship among European partners and friends. Intergovernmental relationships are not always accurately mirrored by the international press and mass media, since state interests do not always coincide with the interests represented by the Press and its Tycoons.

- People say EU should forge ahead with crucial reforms. Could you describe what a “New European Union” should be in your opinion?

A New European Union should be a strong political and economic formation with appropriate mechanism to face challenges in our globalized economic and political system. In this Europe people should have opportunities to improve their standard of living, employment, education and social care.

In The New Europe, which will be a democratic expression of the European people, institutions should be progressive, democratically organized, aiming at a conversion of economies where burdens and benefits will be shared by all member states and where financial discipline is a common precaution and a challenge for unanimous solutions.

A synthesis of cultural and political experiences of all members will be an asset for a Union of European people and their nations. This idea probably sounds more federalist. However, we always keep in mind that the founders of the European Union overcame a difficult past after the Second World War and their successors constructed a political and monetary Union which even today, in the heart of the global economic crises, still represents a reliable and strong Union, asserting peace, political stability, intergovernmental cooperation and prosperity in the world.

Action Plan for the City of Athens. 3rd Report 10.08.2011 – 24.11.2011. https://antiproedros.gov.gr/en/2012/01/10/1819 https://antiproedros.gov.gr/en/2012/01/10/1819#comments Tue, 10 Jan 2012 08:57:01 +0000 stf http://antiproedros.gov.gr/en/?p=1819 In the framework of the upgrading of the Centre of Athens, the Vice-President of the Government Theodoros Pangalos, has undertaken coordination in the process of formulating and implementing actions of all agents involved mainly or incidentally in the implementation of those policies.

Although the coordination task started a few months ago, it has already produced the first tangible results, which have been published along with the first two Reports.

Today, Thursday, November 24, 2011, is published the third Report on the upgrade of the Centre of Athens, the positive course of which is clearly indicated in order to continue and implement the relevant actions.


It is worth mentioning that measures by the Hellenic Parliament have passed which will lead to the “return” of residents to the Centre and the regeneration of the area, such as the tax incentives for the rehabilitation and the modernization of buildings of the areas ‘Gerani and Kerameikos-Metaxourgeio”.

To ensure safer living conditions of 2.085 new police officers who swore in October 2, 2.033 were placed in the General Police Directorate of Attica. In addition, some 1.200 special guards will assist in tackling crime in the basin. A special planning is adjusted to combat theft, robbery at the premises and the trains of the Metro and Athens and Pireus Electric Railways, and the B Zone of Policing in the areas of Agios Panteleimon, Kipseli, Patision, Kolonos, as well as Exarchia and Petralona.

In an effort to overcome the scourge of illegal trade, our attention focuses on the entry of illegal shipments. For this reason, the Ministry of Finance incorporates electronic automatic recording vehicle to tackle cross-border smuggling of goods at Customs and X-RAY Systems of solid position to check luggage and parcels.

As the National Plan on Drugs is being implemented thanks to combined efforts, the first visible results are to be noted such as the effort to dismantle ghettos from the centre of the city and the closing of the OKANA (Organization to tackle drugs) Unit in the area of ​​Exarchia. From now on, the addicted person constitutes a patient and is addressed to the new special units in hospitals; consequently, the waiting time for the list is reduced.

Efforts continue to reduce the number of illegal immigrants. It is worth noting that they have deported 23.000 migrants and 1.500 has opted for the voluntary return program (from 01.01.2010 to 31.10.2011).

Finally, specific interventions have been completed or advanced such as: the protection of public health, the creation of social infrastructure, the urban regeneration to improve Athens, the strengthening cultural identity and other that will gradually transform Athens into an attractive and safer city.

In the Forum will participate some 200 major companies and investment institutions of world-wide range investment agencies in Greece in order to strengthen the extroversion of enterprises from both countries and enforce investment and business partnerships in the areas of industry aluminum, energy, environment, tourism, air transport, rural industry, food, banking, stock market, shipping and new technologies.

The response of the Government of the United Arab Emirates to the invitation of the Vice-President of the Hellenic government confirms the confidence of the Gulf countries in the investment opportunities in Greece, but also the importance of our country for the future development in the region of Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East. The expectation of the Government of the UAE is to maintain the economic stability in the region and to overcome the economic crisis through policies and partnerships which will ensure a return to a growth path in terms of mutual respect and competitiveness demanded by markets.

The Greek companies and the banking system will have the opportunity to make mature investment proposals to seek financing sources of entrepreneurial projects.

Finally, in the context of the Business and Economic Forum, the Greek businessmen will be informed by the state agents of the Emirates on business opportunities in the United Arab Emirates under the development program announced by the Government of the country.

It is estimated from the side of the Gulf countries that:

- Even in times of crisis, they are offered many valuable investment opportunities in the areas of energy, tourism, transport, new technologies, food, rural development and the pharmaceutical industry.

- The European Union in economic and investment environment ensures institutional stability.

The organization of the first-two-day meeting with the United Arab Emirates is set for 11-12 January 2012.

This effort is coordinated by the Vice-President of the Government, Theodoros Pangalos, in to which the Prime Minister has assigned the responsibility of the initiative to support entrepreneurship.

Do you still believe it to be so after its overall failure?
At last I want somebody to give me a chance to have a better memorandum. If I read such a text, I will admit that we “were wrong”. Instead of an alternative proposition however, I am exposed only to poppycock. Poppycock and words in the air that unfortunately mouth even academics. That is, why the Greek university is in such a mess.

- You mean that the memorandum is successful?
The contrary. Yet the memorandum failed because we did not bring the reforms to a complete end and we did not move with the decisiveness that was necessary. We failed in the cutbacks of expenses and mainly in the increase of revenues by cutting down tax evasion and tax escape.

-Therefore it seems that the leadership of the Ministry of Finance is to blame, that is Mr. Papaconstadinou and Mr. Venizelos.
Evidently it is a matter of leadership and mechanisms of the specific ministry but it is also a matter of all those who did their tricks and took their money abroad defrauding and stealing the public sector, without anyone paying what was due.

- And what did you do? And I refer to you personally because you had a responsibility by cutting down the expenses and by abolishing useless agencies.
I have answered this; I only had consulting and not a legislative charge and exhausted all the available limits. Now as for assuming the related initiatives, you may address the ministers responsible for each period.

- To come to the news of the day, was Mr. Samaras wrong to claim that the demand of our partners was derogatory to cancel out any alternative policy of the opposition?
I do not want to judge the president of the New Democracy as he supports the government to which I belong. However, I have said that when you are in a position of borrowing, it is not you who set the terms but he who provides the loan. The partners asked to be reassured that their money wouldn’t disappear. And since Mr. Samaras said that he supports actively the government, I never understood why he refused to put a signature creating thus a huge issue around a non existing matter.

- Since the issue was non existent, how do you explain the great insistence of our partners?
I cannot and I do not wish to psychoanalyze our partners. I told you which according to my opinion the obvious way of their thinking was.

-You characterize the referendum as a mistake. You simply believe that Mr. Papandreou did not take into account the consequences?
I said it in public, and I said it to him personally. I will never understand how G. Papandreou with such a thorough experience of the community matters was drawn to a choice that only with the word “curse” could be described. Because as many times community countries resorted to referendums, we were left with very unfavorable repercussions in the European unification. And I don’t mean only the European constitution. I will call upon the English who permanently have a majority percentage asking that they should leave the EU and who have never proceeded to a relevant referendum. In referendums, it is proven that the citizens do not vote by making a thorough analysis of the dilemma but by making simple guesses that are influenced by their mental opposition to who ever puts the question.

- When you obviously mentioned all this, what did Mr. Papandreou tell you?
He did not answer by something specific. I was left with the impression that he simply had an obsession for the idea of the referendum because he wanted the people to express their view. But this was a tremendous risk that caused a huge problem throughout the planet. To make you understand, since at the time I was in China, the local communist newspaper of Guangzhou-selling one million of copies! – made the Greek referendum its leading subject and had Mr. Papandreou in cartoons with negative comments for Greece.

-Is it easy to reverse this huge distrust for the country?
This distrust did not commence now. It started before the time of Mr. Karamanlis premiership during which it grew bigger. However, already from the second term of Mr. Simitis, there was a series of promised institutional interventions that never took place. Neither did we reform our educational system nor the tax system, nor the voting system so things remain they way they were. You might think that with the Olympic Games and when we became part of the Economic and Monetary Union, there was the end of the history of the Greek state. The opposite happened. New period began that demanded a brave intervention into the state. If you do not believe me, read the book by Mr. Simitis in which he numbers all that we had promised and never dared to implement.

- Have you understood what is Ms. Merkel targeting?
That which Germany supports is perfectly right. And Ms. Merkel as several of our partners do rightly underlines that common monetary area suffers from a deficit of regulatory principle and that it needs a common monetary policy. This means that very clear rules must be laid down to all. I hear different silly people, calling this “supervision” overlooking the facts that when there is a common monetary unit, it is unthinkable for everybody to do a few things to increase accordingly his deficits and to charge the future generations as much as he wants. To save the European Union, rules must be laid down and we, as the most frivolous are the first who must abide by them. You will ask if there is an alternative proposal. Of course there is. It is the bucolic development supported by KKE and SYRRIZA, two parties that equally oppose the EU. What do they counter propose? To go back to bucolic Greece, with our farms, to graze our sheet and to top it all to have another Enver Hoja who now and then slaughters 5-6000”heads” to “cleanse” those who are badly thinking, and restore “tranquility…”.

- There is also the argument that if we are to become miserable with the euro, how would it be different if we returned to drachma.
Another big nonsense. In our country, we discuss about whether we should or not leave the euro and we are not aware that what is at stake for us is to be abandoned by the euro. I say it again. For us to survive, within our natural territory which is the European Union, it doesn’t make sense any more to do whatever we want. Much more to bad mouth and offend deeply the Germans. Have you read what even the counselors of party leaders write in the newspapers? They characterize Hitler-like all the Germans together as well as their representatives. Since I know very well this country and I once had a problem with all I had said, (he means his statement that “German is a giant with a brain of a child”), there is nothing worse for a German than to call him Hitler like period. You may call him a thief, a robber, a liar but comparing him with Nazi Germany is very big hubris.

-And the eventuality that Germany methodically plans its own withdrawal from the Eurozone, is it simply a conspiracy scenario?
No. There was even a relevant discussion in Germany which we got wind of last. Likely however, with the imposition that Ms. Merkel succeeded, both in her coalition and to a great extent to deputies of the opposition, it is no longer an issue of dissolving the Eurozone, nor withdrawing Germany from it. Germans are decided to pay the cost to maintain the euro because they have understood that their interests are in Europe. But this doesn’t mean that someone may blackmail them, and our political powers would better keep that in mind.

- When do you think they will be elections?
Until the budget is voted, I have no intention to get into these discussions.

- Aren’t you going to talk about your own news inside your party? I read that you excluded yourself from the successors?
Even if you would like to strip for me, although this will move me in its originality, I will not tell you anything about my party.

- Aren’t you going to talk about what was written that you are very close with the troika of PASOK with whom you had lunched?
I am close with everyone and I would tell you foremost with Mr. Papandreou whose contribution in the recent period I respect and appreciate contrary to others who stone him.

-Especially in the end, at any rate, his government showed to have lost control completely even in the issue concerning order.
I do not deny it. Even now it is unthinkable for me that any Fotopoulos may take charge of the Public Power Corporation and then wait for days so that the police may intervene.

-Isn’t Mr. Papoutsis responsible?
Of course he does. He is particularly responsible. I have fought for many years in favor of the personal rights of citizens and now in the sunset of my life, I cannot walk across the square of Syntagma without being threatened by anyone who happens to be there. It is a jungle created by parliament parties and deputies mobilizing bums, criminal elements and why not terrorists.

- What you just described was the tens of thousands indignant citizens?
I refer to those who created, encouraged and maintained for months a jungle in the biggest square of the country.

Working meeting of the Vice President of the Government, Mr. Theodoros Pangalos, and Mr. Wang Yang, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, of the province of Canton. https://antiproedros.gov.gr/en/2011/06/21/1778 https://antiproedros.gov.gr/en/2011/06/21/1778#comments Tue, 21 Jun 2011 11:31:20 +0000 stf http://antiproedros.gov.gr/en/?p=1778 The Vice President of the Government, Mr. Theodoros Pangalos, ran a working meeting, followed by a dinner, with the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China of the province of Canton, and member of the Political Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Mr. Wang Yang, on Wednesday 15th of June 2011.

Mr. Wang Yang visited Greece, as head of a 15-member high-level delegation of senior government officials, after accepting an invitation by the Vice President of the Greek Government. The participants of the working meeting were the Deputy Foreign Minister, Mrs. Mariliza Xenogiannakopoulou, the Deputy Minister of Development, Competition and Shipping, Mr. Socrates Xynidis, and the General Secretary of Economy, Competition and Shipping, Mr. Ioannis Drymousis.

Mr. Wang Yang’s visit in Greece is included in the tour that he made in Europe, also visiting Germany, where he met with the President of the Federal Republic of the country (as the Chancellor was in the U.S.A. for an official visit) and Italy, having meetings with the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of the country.

Mr. Wang Yang heads of Canton, the richest province in China populated with approximately 110 million inhabitants, and according to international Press publications, is one of the three most prevalent candidates for his announcement as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China. It should be noted that 3 out of the 6 Special Financial Zones of China, are located in the province of Canton, which holds a share of over 10% of the domestic Chinese production and carries some 27% of foreign trade of the country.

The Chinese officer, on behalf of the Chinese Government, thanked especially the Greek Government for the help that provided during the evacuation of the citizens of China from Libya, when they were safely transferred with Greek means, 13.000 out of 30.000 Chinese citizens, that altogether were in the country by the time that the crisis broke. As Mr. Wang Yang stated, “true friendship is shown in difficult times”.

He also thanked personally the Vice President of the Greek Government, because during the crisis in Albania in 1997, as Foreign Minister, he had decisively contributed to the safe evacuation of the citizens of China and their transfer to Greek territory.

The conversations between the two sides focused on the potentials and the opportunities that emerge from the further deepening of the bilateral cooperation in various fields, having as a priority the tourism, the investments, the commercial and cultural exchanges, the energy and the shipping. Mr. Wang Yang expressed strong interest in the possibility of a direct air link between Canton and Athens, in order to enhance tourism and business exchanges.

The Chinese side did not fail to stress that the success of COSCO’s significant investment in the port of Piraeus sends positive messages to the leadership of China, as well as to the Chinese investors in order to encourage and promote new investments in Greece.

Mr. Wang Yang called on the Vice President of the Greek Government, Mr. Theodoros Pangalos, to accept his official invitation to visit Canton as soon as possible.

In this framework, the Office of the Vice President organized and implemented in cooperation with the International and Community Affairs of the General Secretary of the Government and the Legal Directorate of Foreign Affairs Ministry, a dynamic monitoring system of the course of Community Directives Integration in the National Law as well as the full registration of the number of those directives not integrated and of the violations of the Law of the European Union per ministry.

The Monitoring System of Community Directions’ Integration in the National Law constitutes an innovation of the current Hellenic Government which proves a different facing attitude dealing with such issues compared to the past since from now on new technologies are utilized in order to systemize and monitor the governmental actions and their results’ publication per Ministry.

The system was developed with no cost for the Greek Public Sector, since were used the know-how and the infrastructures of the Office of the Vice President, the General Secretary of the Government and the Legal Directorate of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Today 28/1/2011 the third report is presented, which includes:

1. Number of Non-Integration Directives in the National Law and Violation per Ministry

2. Amount of fines per Ministry

3. Status change on the above indicators by Ministry

4. Detailed Table of the Non-Integrated National Directives
